Difference between Productivity and quality

Productivity and quality
Productivity means input output ratio within a given time period and with due consideration of quality of performance. Quality is a degree of excellence a product possess with respect to design a product and conformity with certain prescribed established and specification so as to meet customers expectation most satisfactionally.
It is generally thought that an increase in quality of product and vice - versa.
But this relationship between Productivity and quality is doubtful. For example In cases when workers are paid according to piece rate system of wage payment, Productivity of workers may increase due to over. Spending ( in order to claim higher wages) . But at the same time such over spending of production may lead to a considerable decline in the quality of production.  Again undertime rate system of wage payment Productivity may be low, but quality of output may be higher.
